This invention is a device used to contain daphnia in bodies of water that require algae or bacteria control. This device is designed for use in bodies of water that have excess growth of algae or bacteria which cannot or should not be controlled through the use of algaecides. Daphnia are a natural primary consumer of algae and bacteria across the globe. This device allows for the application of dense cultures of daphnia into these water systems without unregulated release into the environment. This controlled use of daphnia in these systems ensures that algae or bacteria in the water system is removed through natural activity without the use of chemicals. In addition it protects the daphnia culture from predation by fish. A containing frame is used to hold the daphnia culture. Into the side of this device are holes allowing water to move through the device. Mesh covering these holes prevents the escape of daphnia. A floatation apparatus at the top of this device maintains the buoyancy of the container. An anchor in the bottom of the device maintains the position of this device in the body of water.
