ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rectifier bridge couples a telephone line to a telephone instrument on receipt of a first telephone number ringing signal. On receipt of a second, coded, telephone number ringing signal, a detector operates a relay to uncouple the telephone line from the telephone instrument and to couple it to a telefacsimile terminal. Thus, a device is provided whereby the telephone instrument and the telefacsimile terminal have separate telephone numbers, and the telephone instrument and the telefacsimile terminal can still share a single telephone line.
