The invention relate to a flexible shutter device, designed for closing a bay (6), cooperating with drive means which permit the movement of the flexible shutter (1) between an open position and a closed position. The device comprises a drum (8) which may turn about the horizontal axis (11) thereof and about which the shutter is wound in the open position forming a roll of turns of successive layers of the shutter attaching one to the other and from which the flexible shutter can be unrolled and pushed into the closed position thereof. Suspension means for the drum comprise a suspension axis (13) parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum about which the rotational axis of the drum can oscillate. Contact elements (16, 36) exert a driving force on the roll essentially radial with relation to the drum. The distance of the axis of rotation (11) of the drum from the reference plane formed by the unwound flexible shutter in the closed position thereof is always less than the distance of the suspension axis (13) from said reference plane, whatever the position of the shutter.

L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif à volet flexibledestiné à la fermeture d'une baie (6) coopérant avec des moyens d'entraînement permettant de déplacer le volet flexible(1) entre une position d'ouverture et une position de fermeture. Le dispositif comprend un tambour (8) pouvant tourner autour de son axe horizontal (11) et autour duquel le volet est enroulé dans sa position d'ouverture en formant un rouleau constitué de spires formées par des couches successives du volet s'accrochant les unes aux autres et duquel le volet flexible peut être déroulé et poussé vers sa position de fermeture. Des moyens de suspension du tambour comprennent un axe de suspension (13) parallèle à l'axe de rotation du tambour autour duquel l'axe de rotation du tambour peut osciller. Des éléments de contact (16, 36) exercent sur le rouleau une force de poussée sensiblement radiale par rapport au tambour. La distance de l'axe de rotation (11) du tambour au plan de référence formé par le volet flexible déroulé dans sa position de fermeture est, quelque soit la position du volet, inférieure à la distance de l'axe de suspension (13) à ce même plan de référence.
