The present invention relates to devices and methods for selectively removing contaminants from a crude product mixture. In an embodiment, the invention includes a method for removing free organic acids from a crude product mixture including contacting the crude product mixture with a metal oxide substrate, the metal oxide substrate having properties sufficient to bond with free organic acids in the crude product mixture, thereby removing free organic acids and forming a refined product mixture, and separating the refined product mixture from the metal oxide substrate. In an embodiment, the invention includes a device for removal of free organic acids from a crude product mixture including a first housing defining an interior volume, an input port, and an output port, and metal oxide media disposed within the first housing, the metal oxide media comprising a metal oxide selected from the group consisting of zirconia, alumina, hafnia, and titania. Other embodiments are also described herein.
La présente invention concerne des dispositifs et des procédés pour enlever de façon sélective des contaminants d'un mélange de produits bruts. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention comporte un procédé servant à enlever des acides organiques libres d'un mélange de produits bruts comportant les étapes consistant à mettre en contact le mélange de produits bruts avec un substrat d'oxyde de métal, le substrat d'oxyde de métal ayant des propriétés suffisantes pour adhérer aux acides organiques libres dans le mélange de produits bruts, en enlevant de ce fait les acides organiques libres et en formant un mélange de produits fins, et séparer le mélange de produits fins du substrat d'oxyde de métal. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention comporte un dispositif servant au retrait d'acides organiques libres d'un mélange de produits bruts comportant un premier logement définissant un volume intérieur, un orifice d'entrée, et un orifice de sortie, et un support d'oxyde de métal disposé à l'intérieur du premier logement, le support d'oxyde de métal comprenant un oxyde de métal sélectionné parmi le groupe composé du zirconium, de l'alumine, du hafnium, et du titane. La présente invention concerne également d'autres modes de réalisation.
