Devices, systems, and methods employ an implant that is sized and configured to attach in, on, or near the annulus of a dysfunctional heart valve. In use, the implant extends either across the minor axis of the annulus, or across the major axis of the annulus, or both. The implant restores to the heart valve annulus and leaflets a more functional anatomic shape and tension. The more functional anatomic shape and tension are conducive to coaptation of the leaflets, which, in turn, reduces retrograde flow or regurgitation.

L'invention concerne des dispositifs, des systèmes, et des procédés faisant appel à un implant dimensionné et conçu pour être fixé dans, sur ou près de l'anneau d'une valve cardiaque dysfonctionnelle. Lors de l'utilisation, l'implant s'étend soit en travers de l'axe mineur de l'anneau, soit en travers de l'axe majeur de l'anneau, soit en travers des deux axes. L'implant redonne à l'anneau et aux valvules de la valve cardiaque une forme anatomique et une tension plus fonctionnelles. La forme anatomique et la tension plus fonctionnelles entraînent la coarctation des valvules, lesquelles, à leur tour, diminuent le débit rétrograde ou les flux de régurgitation.
