Transgenic soybean seed having increased total fatty acid content of at least 20% and altered fatty acid profiles when compared to the total fatty acid content of non-transgenic, null segregant soybean seed are described. DGAT genes from Yarrowia lipolytica combined with plastidic phosphoglucomutase down regulation are used to achieve the increase in seed storage lipids.

L'invention concerne une semence de soja transgénique dont la teneur totale en acides gras est accrue d'au 20% et qui présente des profils d'acides gras modifiés par rapport à la teneur totale en acides gras de semences de soja non transgénique de ségrégants nuls. Les gènes DGAT issus de Yarrowia lipolytica combinés à la régulation à la baisse d'une phosphoglucomutase plastidique sont utilisés accroître les lipides de stockage de semences.
