New compounds of the formula I are described which are active, for example, as antioxidants, and also a process for their preparation: Image (I), in which R1 and R2 are independently of one another C1-C20alkyl, allyl, methallyl, unsubstituted or C1-C8alkyl-substituted C5-C12cycloalkyl, C5-C8cycloalkenyl, phenyl or C7-C9phenylalkyl, A is a direct bond, -CH2-, -(CH2)2- or -CH2-CH(CH3)-, E is -(CH2)2-, -CHR6-CH2- or -CH2CHR6-, n is 1, 2 or 3, R3 is C1-C18alkyl or is C1-C18alkyl which is interrupted by -O- or -S-, unsubstituted or C1-C8alkyl-substituted C5-C12cycloalkyl, phenyl, naphthyl, C7-C9phenylalkyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl or is of the formula Image R4 is phenyl, naphthyl, C7-C9phenylalkyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl or is a radical of the formula Image or NR3R4 is a group of the formula Image , Image , Image or Image , R5 is hydrogen, C1-C18alkyl, allyl, methallyl, unsubstituted or C1-C8alkyl-substituted C5-C12cycloalkyl, phenyl or naphthyl, R6 is hydrogen, C1-C20alkyl or C2-C20alkyl which is interrupted by -O-, -S-, -NR7- or -C(O)O-, and R7 is hydrogen or C1-C6alkyl.
