There is no shared technical feature among all of Groups 1-111. The shared technical feature of Groups I and III is a method for characterizing renal failure comprising, inter alia, comparing levels of gelsolin. However, this is not an improvement over the prior art of US 5260224A to Stossel et al. (9 Novemeber 1993; hereinafter "Stossel") that teaches the use of gelosin in the diagnosis and treatment of renal disease (abstract, col 6 In 7-13, col 6 In 43- 54, col 3 In 8-13). The shared technical feature of Groups 11 and III is a method for characterizing renal failure comprising, inter alia, comparing levels of actin from the subject. However, this is not an improvment over the prior art of Stossel that teaches the use of actin in the diagnosis and treatment of renal disease (abstract, col 1 In 11-17, col 3 In 36-67; claimi).

L'invention porte, en partie, sur l'utilisation de la gelsoline pour diagnostiquer, surveiller et traiter des sujets avec une insuffisance rénale (par exemple, des sujets atteints d'une insuffisance rénale chronique en dialyse).
