A point mutation in the CD18 gene responsible for causing bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency (BLAD) and a silent mutation linked thereto have been identified. Nucleic acid sequences encompassing these mutations serve as bases for testing and identifying cattle alleles attributable to BLAD using any of a variety of diagnostic assays. Suitable nucleic acid probes and primers have also been designed for use in such assays,
On a découvert une mutation ponctuelle dans le gène CD18 qui empêche l'adhésion des leucocytes chez les bovins (BLAD) et une mutation silencieuse associée. Des séquences d'acides nucléiques portant ces mutations servent de bases à l'analyse et à l'identification des allèles chez les bovins attribuables au BLAD au moyen d'une diversité d'épreuves diagnostiques. Des sondes d'acides nucléiques et des amorces adéquates ont aussi été conçues pour être utilisées dans ces épreuves.
