ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tendon hammer comprises a percussive head and an extensible shaft including a plurality of telescopically interconnected shaft sections. Preferably, the percussive head is movable from a position of use to a stowed position in which it lies alongside the shaft, with its major dimension substantially paralled thereto. The instrument may include fixed or detachable parts shaped for use in stimulating, e.g., the skin in diagnostic and investigative neurological procedures.
