Also disclosed is a polypeptide capable of immunologically mimicking an Apo AI/HDL epitope whose expression is substantially unaffected by deamida- tion. Diagnostic systems and methods for determining the amount of Apo AI in a vascular fluid sample using a disclosed monoclonal antibodyand/or a disclosed polypeptide are also described.
