When an entered dial number is not equal to one of dial numbers which have been previously stored in an abbreviated dial information area of a memory of a dialing system, the entered dial number is automati- cally stored in the abbreviated dial information area. In a system provided with a direct dialing function, When a number which equals to the dial number designat- ed for performing a direct dialing function is manually entered, the dial pulse corresponding to the dial number is automatically generated without operating the key for initiating the direct dialing operation.
