ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The manner of configuring a voice synthesizer to cause it to emit standard dialing signals is disclosed. For example, with a synthesizer having an impulse generator for voicing, several digital filter sections, an analog output and an input register controlling functional parameters of the impulse generator and the filter sections, dialing tone "1" conforming with the specification used in the industry can be generated as follows. Data is entered into the input register to control a first one of the filter sections to have a centre frequency of 700.0 Hz and a band width of 15.6 Hz. Data is entered into the input register to control a second filter section to have a centre frequency of 1199.4 Hz and a band width of 6.2 Hz. Data is entered into the input register to control the impulse generator to operate at 100.0 Hz.
