The solutions of this invention are particularly useful for the colouring of hydrocarbons obtained by distillation of crude oil such, for example, as petrol kerosene and gas oil. The invention also includes the preparation of the aforementioned concentrated solutions, including direct preparation of the solu- tions during the synthesis phase of the anthraquinone dyes.
