A dialyzer holder (126 and 128) for quickly and securely fastening a variety of dialyzers in position against a dialysis machine (124). The dialyser holder (126 and 128) includes an elongated arm (128) pivotably attached to the dialysis machine (124). An attachment device (126) for engaging a dialyser (54) is fixed to the free end of the pivotable elongated arm (128). The pivotable elongated arm (128) is biased to direct the attachment device (126) toward the dialysis machine (124). The elongated arm (128) is of sufficient length to position a dialyser (54) between the attachment device (126) and the dialysis machine (124) when an operator pivots the arm (128) away from the dialysis machine (124). The bias on the elongated arm (128) maintains the dialyzer (54) suspended between the attachment device (126) and the dialysis machine (124), even once the dialyzer (54) is filled with blood and dialysate.
