Solid compositions containing diamidediurethanes are useful as components of hot-melt-inks. Diamidediurethanes may be prepared by reaction of a hydroxycarboxylic acid and/or lactone with either (1) monoamine and diisocyanate or (2) diamine and monoisocyanate. Alternatively, the diamidediurethane may be prepared by reacting a non-hydric carboxylic acid and/or anhydride with an hydroxyamine and a diisocyanate. The reactant identity and stoichiometry, as well as the reaction conditions, may be tailored to optimize the formation of diamidediurethane in preference to high molecular weight oligomers. The hot- melt inks may be used in ink jet, flexographic, gravure and intaglio printing.

Compositions solides à base de diamidediuréthanes, utiles comme composants d'encres thermofusibles. Les diamidiuréthanes peuvent être obtenus par mise en d'acide hydroxycarboxylique et/ou lactone, avec (1) de la monoamine et du diisocyanate ou (2) de la diamine et du monoisocyanate. On peut aussi les obtenir par mise en réaction d'acide carboxylique non hydroxylé et/ou un anhydride de cet acide, avec une hydroxyamine et un diisocyanate. L'identité et la stoechiométrie des réactifs ainsi que les conditions de la réaction, sont adaptables, de manière que la formation des diamidediuréthanes, de préférence sous forme d'oligomères de poids moléculaires élevés soit optimisée. Les encres thermofusibles peuvent être utilisées dans l'impression à jet d'encre, flexographique et dans la photogravure ou héliogravure.
