DIAMOND DRAG BIT CUTTING ELEMENTS Abstract of the Disclosure A unitized polycrystalline composite diamond stud type drag bit cutter has no high temperature braze of a PDC wafer to a cemented tungsten carbide stud, The diamond cutting surface may be planar, convex, curved or a truncated cone. The polycrystalline diamond layer is applied to the surface of a carbide stud bya tape casting process. The unitized construction of the cutter eliminates the problems associated with the high temperature brazing of a PDC wafer to a carbide stud.
