rilling holes in concrete of 0.5 m diameter and up requires a 5-cm guide hole to be drilled first to insert a threaded shaft with a bevelled tip that is used to wedge the tool against the work surface and to centre the bit. The penetration of the tool into the work surface is controlled by a nut that screws onto the threaded part of the shaft. Feed water fills a cavity formed by the cylinder of the hole saw and the surface being drilled. The water is forced to flow over the cutting surface and so helps lubricate the bit. With this equipment an operator can work alone in all directions, even drilling into a ceiling.

L'avance de l'outil à l'intérieur de la surface à forer est contrôlée par un écrou qui visse dans la partie filetée de l'arbre. L'eau est forcée à circuler le long de la surface de coupe et par conséquent facilite lalubrification du trépan. Avec cet équipement de forage un opérateur peut travailler seul dans toutes les directions incluant la possiblité de forer dans un plafond.
