The device is installed in the router's power driven spindle and is used for sharpening tungsten carbide tooling specifically carbide tipped router bits and small shaper cutters used for woodworking. It consists of a shank for mounting into the router collet and a body or head to support an affixed top surface coating of diamond abrasive grit.
