A diaper assembly including a washable waterproof-garment having opposite side edges and two opposite ends, an inner and outer surfaces. A reusable hydrophobic cloth sheet position on the inner surface side of the garment having opposite side and two opposite ends. There is a detachable, washable, rectangular, convertible, absorbent liner adapted for positioning on the inner surface of the hydrophobic cloth sheet. A separate, disposable, non-absorbent, inner sheet or cover member is adapted to cover the outer layer of the liner. Preferably the garment has an elasticized moisture proof crescent piece located centrally on the side edges. Preferably the garment has a foldable elasticized garment piece disposed at the top rear portion of the waterproof- garment. Preferably the garment have a moisture proof strip located at opposite ends of the garment for retaining the cover member and the liner onto the waterproof-garment. Preferably the garment has snap fasteners to secure the garment onto the wearer. Preferably the hydrophobic sheet having both side edges and one end are free of attachment from the garment. Preferably the liner could transform from a cotton liner to a stay-dry liner by folding the liner in a different manner.
