The clock appears to be a miniature Grandfather Clock. It stands 3'9" tall and 11" wide. The clock, itself is battery operated. The clock key, instead of winding the clock, turns a large inner wheel in the clock which forces a tape, to which a mouse is attached, to turn rapidly. When the child winds the clock, the mouse emerges from the base of the clock where it is hidden, and goes up one side, over the top and then down the other side. Then it rests ( upside down) hidden from view, until more winding causes it to emerge again.
