Novel antiviral compounds are disclosed having the following formula Image wherein R1 is C1-C14 alkyl or C1-C14 hydroxyalkyl or C3-C12 alkanoyl or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl radical having six to ten carbon atoms; and wherein R2, R3 and R4 are the same or different and each is H or acyl having one to six carbon atoms; provided, however, that when R2, R3 and R4 are each H, then R1 is C4-C9 alkyl or C2-C5 hydroxyalkyl or C3-C12 alkanoyl.

L'invention porte sur de nouveaux composés antiviraux de formule Image , dans laquelle R1 est un alkyle C1-C14 ou un hydroxyalkyle C1-C14 ou un alcanoyle C3-C12 ou un aryle de six à dix atomes de carbone avec ou sans substitution, R2, R3 et R4 sont les mêmes ou différents, chacun étant un H ou un acyle de un à six atomes de carbone, à la condition, cependant, que, lorsque R2, R3 et R4 sont chacun un H, alors R1 est un alkyle C4-C9 ou un hydroxyalkyle C2-C5 ou un alcanoyle C3-C12.
