ABSTRACT A die forged body for a shutoff or non-return valve with two fullbore passages which are connectable to piping, the end cross sections of the parts having passages being situated in the axis of the piping, and the passages being separated by a valve disc movable perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the valve, the improvement being that the center line of at least one of the passages is curved so as to be aligned with the axis of the piping, and the method of manufacturing a valve body including providing a blank having at least one part angled to the longitudinal axis of the valve and including a passage therein, bending the angled cylindrical part with a calibrated forging roll to be aligned with the longitudinal axis of the valve, and finish forging the blank in a calibrated die.
