A notched (432, 436) dielectric filter assembly (300 & 500) comprising a shield (500) positioned about the dielectric filter (300), the shield (500) be- ing integrally formed of two sheets of an electrom- agnetic wave-absorptive material interconnected by a shoulder forming a right angle to fit about two sides of the dielectric filter (300) and including one or more projecting prongs (542, 548) and including in number and position with one or more notches (324, 426) of the dielectric filter and providing open- ings to permit tuning after the shield (500) is in- stalled over the filter (300).
