ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for recording information on a dielectric material in the form of electrostatic charge patterns is pro- vided in which a plurality of recording electrodes are provided at one side of the dielectric material, whereas a corona device which is partially screened is situated at the other side of the dielectric material. The screen is in the form of a metallic plate provided with a slit and is kept at a constant DC voltage. An electrostatic charge is built-up at the surface of the di- electric material when the recording electrodes are not energized, and vice versa.
