A process for producing homopolymers or copolymers of conjugated dienes comprising contacting monomeric material comprising at least one conjugated diene with a catalyst system comprising two or more different transition metal compounds and optionally one or more activators. Preferred transition metal compounds are based on cobalt and chromium, especially complexes thereof having benzimidazole ligands.

L~invention concerne un procédé de production d~homopolymères ou de copolymères de diènes conjugués comprenant la mise en contact de matériau monomère comprenant au moins un diène conjugué avec un système catalyseur comprenant deux composés de métal de transition différents ou plus et facultativement un activateur ou plus. Les composés de métal de transition préférés sont basés sur du cobalt et du chrome, particulièrement les complexes de ceux-ci ayant des ligands benzimadazoles.
