This invention relates to a diesel engine lubricant composition comprising a base stock other than synthetic phthalate esters and a dispersant characterised in that said composition also contains at least one phthalate ester in an amount of less than 5 % by weight of the composition capable of controlling the viscosity of the lubricant in the presence of soot. The compositions of the present invention minimise wear in engines and undesirable emission from exhaust caused by incomplete combustion from vehicles which use diesel engines and lubricants therefor.
L'invention concerne une composition lubrifiante pour moteur diesel comprenant une huile de base autre que les esters de phtalate synthétiques ainsi qu'un agent dispersant. L'invention se caractérise en ce que cette composition contient également au moins un ester de phtalate dans une proportion inférieure à 5 % en poids de la composition, cet ester permettant de réguler la viscosité du lubrifiant en présence de suies. Les compositions de la présence invention contribuent à réduire l'usure des moteurs et l'émission indésirable de gaz d'échappement provenant d'une combustion incomplète dans les véhicules utilisant des moteurs diesel et des lubrifiants associés.
