ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Prior art bathroom and other scales are a poor aid to weight control because they are unable to detect and indicate progress made as a result of a diet program. The invention is a diet scale having a weight progress indicator for indicating progress in a diet program. The scale measures the current weight of the dieter and has a memory that stores an objective weight for the dieter. The scale measures and displays the current weight and the dif- ference between objective weight and the current weight. The scale may also include an objective time entry for the diet program and a display of the deviation between the current weight and the projected weight at the then current time.
