ABSTRACT A limited slip differential (i.e. wherein the moment of inner friction is variable as a function of the ratio of rotational speeds of the driven axle shafts) is equipped with a multiple-disc friction clutch having an outer hub, constituting a part of the differential housing, connected with the inner hub through inner and outer friction discs with the helical compression springs installed axially. Inside the inner hub on the axle shaft a polygonal sleeve is mounted non-rotatably in such way that between its walls and the inner cylindrical surface of the hub rollers are disposed with radial clearance, carried by a cage and a centering device in a position symmetrical in relation to the walls of the polygonal sleeve. The flange of the cage contacts a pressure plate connected with tappets disposed uniformly on the periphery. The other ends of the tappets contact the crown cam fitted non-rotatably in relation to the axle housing. The disc is connected with the tappets and between the disc and the housing tension springs are install- ed.
