A modular differential (1) for drive axles of motor vehicles includes a barrel- shaped differential case (2) and a bowl-shaped ring gear (10). The ring gear (10) is adapted to be selectively positioned relative to the differential case (2) for fastening in a specific position in accordance with the needed gear spacing. The arrangement allows to accommodate different gear ratios between the ring gear (10) and input gear.

La couronne (10) est conçue pour être positionnée sélectivement par rapport au carter (2) du différentiel en vue de la fixation dans une position spécifique conformément à l'espacement requis entre roues. Cet agencement permet d'obtenir différents rapports d'engrenage entre la couronne (10) du train planétaire et la roue d'entrée.
