-20- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The piston of a differential jack for the control of electric circuit-breakers is not provided with any form of packing ring in cooperating relation with the internal surface of the jack cylinder. The jack piston is associated mechanically with a valve for ensuring continuous leak-tight closure of the supply/drain orifice of the main jack chamber when the piston is in the end-of-travel position corresponding to a circuit-breaker trip. The jack cylinder is constructed in the form of a casting having an internal cylindrical surface which does not require any accurate machining operation such as grinding or lapping.
