DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE, COUNTERGRAVITY CASTING WITH SELECTIVE ALLOYANT INTRODUCTION Abstract Of The Disclosure A source of alloyant is disposed at (i.e., within or in close proximity to) one or more ingates of a casting mold so as to selectively introduce the alloyant into the melt stream drawn upwardly from a casting vessel through the ingate(s) during the differential pressure, countergravity casting process. Castings having different compositions, microstructures and mechanical properties can thereby be produced from a common base melt in the casting vessel.
