SPECIFICATION Title of the Invention: Abstract of the Disclosure: A flow-measuring device including a restricting mechanism for throttling a fluid flow through a completely filled duct of rectangular cross section, whereby the flow rate is obtained from the differential pressure created by the pressures tapped from the duct sections upstream and downstream from the restriction, characterized in that the restricting mechanism consists of a pair of flat orifice plates installed on the opposite inner walls of the duct and directed inwardly toward each other, with the inner edges of the plates being square with both faces of the plates and parallel to each other, equidistantly from the opposite inner walls of the duct and within planes normal to the direction of flow in the duct, said orifice plates being symmetrical to a plane extending along the centerline of the duct in parallel to the inner walls. - 1 -
