Apparatus for forming articles in a thermoplastic sheet, severing the articles in the sheet, and stacking the articles in a stacking receiver. The apparatus includes upper and lower molds moveable between closed positions in which the molds engage opposite sides of the sheet to differentially pressure form a part in the thermoplastic sheet. The molds in which the article is formed are moved toward each from the closed positions to article trim positions to sever the article from the sheet. The lower mold is then moved linearly away from the sheet in a vertical direction and then transversely moved in a second linear transverse path of travel to a remote discharge location. Apparatus is provided for reorienting the mold between its orientation in the first linear path of travel and its orientation in the second path of travel. The invention contemplates the method of transferring an article in a differential pressure forming and trim die linearly in one direction away from the sheet, rotating the die carrying the article, and then transversely moving it in a second line or transverse path to a remote discharge position where the part is discharged from the mold.
Appareil servant à former des articles à partir d'une feuille thermoplastique, à couper les articles dans la feuille et à les empiler au niveau d'un récepteur empileur. L'appareil comprend des moules supérieurs et inférieurs qui peuvent passer dans une position fermée dans laquelle ils engagent les côtés opposés de la feuille afin de former, par pression différentielle, un article dans la feuille. Les moules de formage de l'article s'éloignent l'un de l'autre pour passer de la position fermée à la position d'ébarbage afin de couper l'article de la feuille. Le moule inférieur s'éloigne linéairement de la feuille, dans une direction verticale, puis effectue un déplacement transversal en suivant un deuxième parcours linéaire jusqu'à un point d'extraction. Un dispositif permet de réorienter le moule qui peut ainsi suivre son premier parcours linéaire ou un second parcours. L'invention se penche sur une méthode pour transférer linéairement un article du moule de formage et d'ébarbage par pression afin de l'éloigner de la feuille, assurer la rotation du moule contenant l'article et le déplacer transversalement dans une deuxième direction jusqu'à un point d'extraction se trouvant à distance, où la pièce est retirée du moule.
