ABSTRACT : An arrangement for the formation of a plurality of specific spectral regions from a wide-band spectrum radiated by an object comprising a diffraction grating (phase grating) which is disposed in the pupil of an imaging lens and having a groove profile consisting of a plurality of steps, which produce pathlength differ- ences which are integral multiples of a specific wave- length for deriving the spectral regions from the diffraction orders of the grating.
