The invention relates to a pigment, the smallest size of which corresponds at least to a multiple of the greatest wavelength of ultraviolet light or the smallest wavelength of visible light. Said pigment comprises at least one defined diffractive structure, the spatial periodicity of which has a spatial period corresponding at least to a multiple of the wavelength of ultraviolet light. In particular, the inventive pigment has a laminar shape. The method for producing such pigments comprises the following steps: a) a defined diffractive structure is created in and/or on a film-type support; b) the defined diffractive structure is coated with a sealant on said support; c) the film-type support processed in steps a) and b) is comminuted so as to form pigment particles.
L'invention concerne un pigment dont la plus petite dimension est au moins un multiple de la plus grande longueur d'onde de la lumière ultraviolette ou de la plus petite longueur d'onde de la lumière visible. Ce pigment comprend au moins une structure diffractive définie dont la périodicité spatiale présente une période spatiale qui est au moins un multiple de la longueur d'onde de la lumière ultraviolette. Le pigment selon l'invention a notamment une forme de plaquette. Le procédé selon l'invention pour produire de tels pigments comprend les étapes suivantes : a) génération d'une structure diffractive définie dans ou sur un support de type film, b) enduction de la structure diffractive définie sur le support au moyen d'un agent de scellement, c) réduction du support de type film traité dans les étapes a) et b) en particules de pigment.
