A method for joining two ceramic parts, or a ceramic part and a metal part, and the joint formed thereby. The method provides two or more parts, a braze consisting of a mixture of copper oxide and silver, a diffusion barrier, and then heats the braze for a time and at a temperature sufficient to form the braze into a bond holding the two or more parts together. The diffusion barrier is an oxidizable metal that forms either a homogeneous component of the braze, a heterogeneous component of the braze, a separate layer bordering the braze, or combinations thereof. The oxidizable metal is selected from the group Al, Mg, Cr, Si, Ni, Co, Mn, Ti, Zr, Hf, Pt, Pd, Au, lanthanides, and combinations thereof.

L'invention concerne un procédé de jonction de deux pièces en céramique ou d'une pièce en céramique et d'une pièce métallique et le joint formé ainsi. Le procédé présente deux pièces ou plus, une brasure constituée d'un mélange d'oxyde de cuivre et d'argent, une barrière de diffusion, puis le chauffage de la brasure pendant une certaine durée et à une température suffisante pour former la brasure en une colle maintenant les deux pièces ou plus ensemble. La barrière de diffusion est un métal oxydable qui forme un composant homogène de la brasure, un composant hétérogène de la brasure, une couche séparée bordant la brasure ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci. Le métal oxydable est choisi dans le groupe constitué par Al, Mg, Cr, Si, Ni, Co, Mn, Ti, Zr, Hf, Pt, Pd, Au, des lanthanides, et les combinaisons de ceux-ci.
