A digital broadcast receiver and a signal processing method of a digital broadcast receiver are provided. The receiver includes a demodulator for receiving and demodulating a signal, the signal having been encoded by inserting the specified known data at a specified position in one or both of a normal and robust stream. The receiver further includes a known data output unit for outputting the known data from a specified position of the demodulated signal and an equalizer for equalizing the demodulated signal using the known data.
