The digital broadcast receiver includes a tuner for receiving a transmission stream including known data and information regarding the known data, and a demodulator for demodulating the transmission stream. The digital broadcast receiver further includes a known data detector for detecting the known data from the demodulator transmission stream using the information regarding the known data, and an equalizer for equalizing the demodulator transmission stream using the known data.
