- 17 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The calibrator is a digital reading and test instrument used for setting the trip points on a battery monitor for electric storage batteries. The digital readout is in specific gravity. The instrument simulates the battery voltages measured by the monitor. The calibrator operates on batteries of 12 volts, 24, volts, 36 volts, 48 volts and 72 volts. The range selection is fully automatic and requires no operator intervention. A method of calibrating a monitor using the instrument is also disclosed.
