Specially for application in space communications where the movements of the satellite produce shifts in the carrier frequency due to the Doppler effect and where the received signal is very weak and masked by noise. The input signal (Xi) is mixed in a first multiplier (M1) with a local oscillator signal (XOL) coming from a first voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), obtaining thereby an intermediate frequency signal (XFI). This voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) receives a frequency error signal (FD) to compensate the variations in the carrier of the input signal (Xi). The frequency error signal (FD) is also applied to a numerically controlled oscillator (NCO), whose output signal is mixed with the intermediate frequency signal in order to reinsert the variations in the input signal carrier (Xi) in the reception path and have these available subsequently to obtain the frequency error signal (FD).
