ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION DIGITAL DPCM-CODERS OF HIGH PROCESSING SPEED A digital DPCM-coder of high processing speed, a second quantizer being employed, and likewise supplied with the DPCM-signal as is determined in a calculating loop from an output of a quantizer arrangement which emits from its output the quantized DPCM-signal multiplied by a prediction factor. As a result, one less calculating operation is required, and a DPCM- coder constructed in accordance with the invention can process a higher PCM-data rate at a constant calculating speed of the components. (Figure 2).
