The invention concerns a method for processing samples of a signal received via a channel represented by a pulse response of W+1 coefficients which consists in: determining the W roots of the channel response Z transform; producing an intermediate signal by equalising the received signal by zero forcing method or the like based on the pulse response whereof the Z transform is a Z?-1¿ polynomial of degree W-p having as roots those of the W roots which are furthest from the unit circle; then the estimations of the transmitted signal symbols are obtained by applying a Viterbi-type equalisation method or the like based on a pulse response whereof the Z transform is a Z?-1¿ polynomial of degree p having as roots those of the W roots which are nearest to the unit circle.

Pour traiter des échantillons d'un signal reçu par l'intermédiaire d'un canal représenté par une réponse impulsionnelle de W+1 coefficients, on détermine les W racines de la transformée en Z de la réponse du canal, on produit un signal intermédiaire en égalisant le signal reçu par une méthode de "zero forcing" ou analogue sur la base d'une réponse impulsionnelle dont la transformée en Z est un polynôme en Z-1 de degré W-p ayant pour racines celles des W racines qui sont les plus éloignées du cercle unité, puis on obtient les estimations des symboles du signal transmis en appliquant au signal intermédiaire une méthode d'égalisation de type Viterbi ou analogue sur la base d'une réponse impulsionnelle dont la transformée en Z est un polynôme en Z-1 de degré p ayant pour racines celles des W racines qui sont les plus proches du cercle unité.
