ABSTRACT: "Digital frequency discriminator, and application to a composite VOR signal." This discriminator is designed to extract from a carrier at frequency fo a low frequency sinusoidal signal modulating the carrier. It receives digital samples xn from the carrier modulated at the frequency: fe = 4fo and includes: means of accumulation of N samples xn first means of storage of coefficients R01, R02, R11 and R12 defined by: Image means for formatting the coefficients Rab, and first means of computing the quantity a1 defined by: Image the quantity a1, similar to one point of the sought sinusoid, being then transferred into second means of storage, after which the next point of the sinusoid is determined from the next N samples. Application: search for the reference phase in a composite VOR signal. Reference: Figure 1.
