-22- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A digital gain control system is provided. The system uses a random access digital memory to contain the gain function. Means are provided for generating a digital address sequence at a first rate. Means are provided for generating a digital data sequence at a second rate. The second rate is related to the first rate as a function of the desired gain factor. Finally, means are provided for loading digital data values into the memory when different address values are generated.
