A digital image processing system for processing and optionally reproducing images with graphic and original text elements is described. The image processing system includes a digital image source (1), an image reproduction controller (5) and an image processing device (3) connected between the two. According to the invention the image processing system is provided with an image processing unit (11) adapted to provide translations of the original text elements in another language, comprising a text recognition unit (17) and a text translation unit (18).
