The invention relates to a display device using the DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology. This invention is in the field of digital cinema and content protection, where camcorder acquisition followed by immediate illegal distribution creates important revenue losses for content owners. According to the invention, the addressing of the display device is modified in order to introduce an anti-copy processing. The display device comprises modulation means (500) for modulating the colour or brightness of video data of video pictures received at a first rate and for outputting at a second rate modulated video data, said second rate being a multiple of the first rate, subfield coding means (501) for coding said modulated video data into subfield data, said subfield data being delivered at the second rate, and addressing means (502,503) for addressing the array with said subfield data at a third rate. Advantageously, the third rate is not a multiple of the first rate.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage utilisant la technologie DLP (traitement numérique de la lumière). Cette invention a des applications dans le domaine du cinéma numérique et de la protection de contenu, l'acquisition par caméscope suivie d'une diffusion illégale immédiate entraînant d'importantes pertes de revenus pour les propriétaires de contenu. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à modifier l'adressage du dispositif d'affichage pour introduire une technique de protection contre la copie. Le dispositif d'affichage comprend un moyen de modulation (500) conçu pour moduler la couleur ou la luminosité des données vidéo d'images vidéo reçues selon un premier débit et pour produire en sortie, selon un deuxième débit, des images vidéo modulées, ledit deuxième débit étant un multiple du premier débit; un moyen de codage de sous-champ (501) conçu pour coder lesdites données vidéo modulées dans des données de sous-champ, lesdites données de sous-champ étant fournies selon le deuxième débit, et un moyen d'adressage (502, 503) de la matrice avec lesdites données de sous-champ selon un troisième débit. De préférence, le troisième débit n'est pas un multiple du premier débit.
