ABSTRACT Disclosed is a digital switching system in which calls are separated into circuit switching calls transferred through B channels, packet switching calls transferred through B channels, and packet switching calls transferred through D channels so as to connect the circuit switching calls to a time division switch for circuit switching and packet switching calls to a packet multi- plexer, respectively. The system includes circuitry for concen- trating and packet-multiplexing the separated packet switching calls; and circuitry for multiplexing the circuit switching calls from the time division switch and the packet switching calls from the packed multiplexing circuitry in predetermined time slots in accordance with a band width designated in correspondence with respective call traffic thus multiplexed calls to transmission lines.
