ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A digital pulse width modulator for generating output frequencies with adjustable pulse widths that can he controlled by a microcomputer interface. A method to perform a DPWM chip select and to control the latching, shifting and counting of DPWM counters and registers is also presented. This allows the traditional uses of PWMs to enter the realm of microcomputer systems.
