ABSTRACT A digital switching device for switching digital signals under the control of a central control unit has a plurality of primary selectors for receiving the digital signals, each primary selector being connected to a secondary selector which is connected by a central highway to a secondary distributor. The secondary distributor is connected to a plurality of primary distributors. Each primary distributor operates under the control of the central control unit to transmit digital signals along particular time slots determined by the central unit to the secondary selector which operates as a space switching stage.
